All of these words describe Andrew Jeruss’ artwork. They also describe Andrew himself. Born in 1986, Andrew is a young man who lives life facing many challenges- profoundly deaf, visually impaired and with serious neurological deficits. Yet these challenges do not define Andrew.

Andrew is a person who loves playing with color and creating art. He loves traveling and exploring new places. He never met a meal he didn’t like and thoroughly enjoys fine dining. Hiking to beautiful spots and exploring new places are favorites of Andrew’s.

Andrew brings the same innocent joie de vivre to his artwork. Without any formal training and completely unafraid, he simply explores what he can do with the materials available to him. Andrew learns by doing.

His Aunt Jane, a former art teacher, has been a major supporter and a world-class cheerleader to him. She has exposed him to many artists’ work, including Georgia O’Keefe and Matisse whose influence can be seen in his complex yet simple collages.

Andrew’s art is completely from his heart and he hopes you enjoy the results as much as he enjoys the process.

Andrew’s collage work is currently available for sale at the Fischer Art Gallery, Farmington Valley Arts Center, 25 Arts Center Lane, Avon, CT.  Although many of the pieces shown on this website have been sold, he is constantly creating new work so check back often or sign up to receive email alerts when new work has been posted. If there is something specific you would like to see, Andrew is happy to create something especially for you. He will also accept commissions for pet portraits.
